AP with Emergency

For years, Area Performance has transformed art into a tangible act of solidarity, supporting the projects of EMERGENCY.

This year as well, we renew our commitment alongside the Pediatric Surgery Center in Entebbe, a hospital established by EMERGENCY and designed by Renzo Piano to provide free and accessible care to children in need — a project we have proudly supported since 2024.

In Uganda, more than half the population is under the age of 15. Every day, hundreds of children face surgical conditions that often go untreated.

Once again, art becomes a concrete gesture. And this is only one of the projects we are committed to supporting each year.

Merry Christmas from Area Performance!

May these days be filled with stories to tell, images to remember, and ideas to grow.

Thank you to everyone who has been with us, to those who follow us, and to all who continue to believe in art as a living, shared, ever-moving space.

See you on the other side of the holidays!

A year of projects, people, and visions

In 2025, Area Performance continued to support cultural, artistic, and social initiatives through concrete projects: from training young talents to preserving memory, from the right to healthcare to providing solidarity in emergency situations.

Each initiative stems from a clear choice: to put skills, relationships, and community at the service of what truly matters.

This reel is a brief story of what we accomplished together. And from here, we set off again, looking ahead to 2026.

Fondazione per la Ricerca sulla Fibrosi Cistica – ETS

Cystic fibrosis is a complex genetic disease, often invisible. Many people don’t know they are healthy carriers: in Italy, this is the case for 1 in 30 individuals. When both parents are carriers, there is a one-in-four chance that a child will be born with the disease.

From this reality, and from a request that came directly from our community, comes “1 in 30 and you don’t know it”, the awareness and education project of the Fondazione per la Ricerca sulla Fibrosi Cistica – ETS.

Since 2021, this initiative has helped people learn about the disease and the test that can reveal carrier status, especially for those considering starting a family.

A community that listens and responds — this is how change is born.

More than just an auction

The Area Performance auction is not simply an auction.

It is a room full of people who believe in the value of art and in the value of others.

To those who donated, to those who chose a work, to those who supported our cause: know that you are part of the engine that drives us forward.

Here are more shots from the photographic report on our Facebook page, capturing the most memorable moments of the 2025 edition of the Area Performance auction, held on Sunday, November 2.

Fondazione Monasterio

There are organizations we encounter along our journey that add true value to what we do. Fondazione Monasterio is one of them: a place where care, research, and humanity coexist naturally, without the need for proclamations.

Every day, professionals from different fields work side by side to address complex conditions and support patients through moments that require expertise, attentiveness, and genuine presence. It is quiet, steady work — work that speaks far more than words ever could.

In the 2025 edition of the Area Performance auction, we chose to support them: a simple yet meaningful gesture, fully aligned with the path of Area Performance and the commitment we share with our community.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the auction and made this possible as well.

A heartfelt thank you

Each year, Area Performance is a small collective miracle.

Artists, collectors, fans, curious visitors: everyone leaves a mark, and together those marks become something extraordinary.

Thank you to those who took part in the auction, to those who chose a work of art, and to those who stopped by to breathe in that unique energy that only art can create. Above all, our deepest thanks go to the artists who donated their works for such an important cause.

This year as well, we supported EMERGENCY and the Pediatric Surgery Center in Entebbe project — but not only that: we also contributed to Daniele Caluri’s project, supported The Sign Academy, Fondazione Monasterio, and cystic fibrosis research, and we sincerely thank ASL Toscana Nord Ovest for their collaboration.

Every stroke, every auction, every gesture is proof that the Lucca Comics & Games community knows how to transform passion into solidarity.

Lords for Fantasy 2026

The evolution of the Lords of the Ring project continues to explore ever new styles and themes.

Here, then, is a selection of the finest works created in the Area Performance at Lucca Comics & Games. Among the artists are some of the most renowned fantasy illustrators in the world.

In addition to the 12 monthly plates, the calendar includes extra pages featuring appendices and a section dedicated to a further 64 works produced in the Area Performance.

It can truly be said that the very elite of fantasy illustration is brought together in this calendar, which also represents a synthesis of the most widespread current trends and styles among artists.

Produced in collaboration with Eterea Edizioni, the calendar will be available for purchase during the days of the festival at the publisher’s stand in the Carducci Pavilion, opposite the Area Performance.
