Area Performance on Catawiki for Ukraine Emergency

On the occasion of Collezionando, an event powered by Lucca Comics & Games, some of the works of the greatest fantasy and science fiction artists, cartoonists and illustrators from around the world are auctioned on Catawiki in favor of Emergency in support of their intervention for the war in Ukraine. The team of doctors and volunteers in the field will offer nursing care, primary medicine and provide psychological assistance.

The Area Performance will put at your disposal a series of magnificent original tables. The proceeds will be donated to Emergency which, as a first intervention, has brought its Politruck, the largest among the mobile clinics, to the emergency areas, to offer assistance to the thousands of elderly people, women and children who are arriving in these days in escape from the war in Ukraine.

In this first phase of their intervention, their field team will offer nursing care, primary care and provide counseling. Thanks to the mobile clinic, they will be able to operate by moving to different places, to follow the needs that the unpredictable situation of the conflict imposes. The auction features some of the most interesting works made at Lucca Comics & Games 2021 and some pieces from previous years.

The online auction will open on Friday 1 April and will end on Saturday 16 April.

Great success for Area Performance

After the celebrations of the twentieth anniversary of last year, the great success for the Area Performance continues also for 2019. Also this year the auction of original works and illustrations made by the greatest world artists of fantasy and comics was held, on the occasion of the international festival Lucca Comics & Games.

In an auction that sold out around our stand, the sum of € 29,990 was collected, a sum that will be divided into the approved projects, that is, between Emergency, the Community of Sant’Egidio and the pediatric ward of the hospital of Lucca.

Also this year we have been showing great support from the authors, in fact we received the works of over 100 masters comics and fantasy as gifts, some of which will then be auctioned online on the Catawiki website.

The proceeds from the online auction will go entirely to Emergency, the humanitarian association founded in Milan in 1994 to bring help to civilian victims of wars and poverty.

The Area Performance renews its commitments and plans new activities

As every year, the assembly of members of the Onlus Area Performance Association was held, to analyze the actions taken in the last year and plan the activities for the next period of the non-profit organization that for over twenty years has raised funds thanks to the auctions of the originals works of the best masters in the world of comics, fantasy illustration created during Lucca Comics & Games.

After approving the new budget, taking note of its continuous growth and the  successes achieved for its twentieth anniversary (record of the proceeds raised – € 41,287), the association planned the action plan for 2019 and early 2020.

The charity projects approved in February 2018 were confirmed in the following ways:

  • Pediatrics ward of San Luca Hospital: the historic and long-lasting collaboration will increase the spread of comics to the rest of the USL-Toscana Nord Ovest facilities. In addition, the special volume that collects the comics created in the last ten years will be created.
  • S. Egidio Community: Economic support to the community will be confirmed. Specifically supporting “Il Pulmino della Pace” project linked to the support of poverty and children’s initiatives that the Lucca section engaged in volunteering has been carrying out for many years.
  • Emergency: Financial support for Emergency is renewed with its project linked to the pediatric center in the Mayo camp in Sudan that offers free care to children up to 14 years of age, a prenatal care program and screening for malnutrition.

All this will lead to an investment of about twenty thousand euros for the next year in the aforementioned activities, which will therefore see the Area Performance still engaged in local and national projects linked to solidarity with particular attention to children.

The association also confirmed as president Andrea Cazzullo, born in Genoa in December 1970. This is his second term as head of the association, having always followed its development since its inception in 1999.

The auction on Catawiki retuns in occasion of Collezionando 2019

On the occasion of Collezionando 2019 to be held on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 March, the charity auction returns on Catawiki with proceeds in favor of Emercency.

The auction is already active and will remain so until the deadline set on Tuesday 26 March at 20:00.

After the twenty-year record-breaking auctions, the ONLUS offers 41 original plates of great artists, cartoonists, fantasy and science fiction illustrators from all over the world in a charity auction.

Five of these will also be on display directly at Collezionando,
the exhibition dedicated to collectible comics and other collateral worlds, signed by Lucca Crea srl, (the company that organizes the Lucca Comics & Games festival and that manages the Polo Fiere) and Anafi (National Association of Friends of Comics and Illustration) in collaboration with the Municipality of Lucca.

All the works were carried out on the occasion of Lucca Comics & Games 2018 and the proceeds will be donated to the Pediatric Center in the Mayo refugee camp in Sudan, a few kilometers from the capital Khartoum.

The art of Area Performance returns to Catawiki for the Emergency Association

After the happy experience of last May, Area Performance renews its appointment with the charity auction on Catawiki for the Pediatric Center in the Mayo refugee camp in Sudan.

The auction will run from 30 November until 8 December.

Still in the wake of the twentieth anniversary, the ONLUS offers original tables of great artists, cartoonists, fantasy and science fiction illustrators from all over the world in a charity auction.
